Stir Up the Gift: Standing Firm in Faith – Men’s Prayer Call #9

For God has not given us a spirit of fear,
but of power and of love and of a sound mind.

– 2 Timothy 1:7 (KJV)

In times of uncertainty and chaos, men of faith are rising up—not with weapons of the world, but with prayer, faith, and unwavering resolve. This month’s Men’s Prayer Call (#9) was an electrifying gathering, filled with bold prayers, prophetic declarations, and men gearing up spiritually for the battle ahead.

The rallying cry for this call was “Stir up the gift!” drawn from 2 Timothy 1:6-8 (NKJV):

“Therefore I remind you to stir up the gift of God which is in you through the laying on of my hands. For God has not given us a spirit of fear, but of power and of love and of a sound mind. Therefore do not be ashamed of the testimony of our Lord, nor of me His prisoner, but share with me in the sufferings for the gospel according to the power of God.”

This passage was the warrior’s anthem for the night. In a world filled with division, political tension, and social unrest, these men weren’t looking for physical battles—they were calling on God to strengthen their minds, fortify their spirits, and prepare them to fight for righteousness.

A Call to Fight—But in the Spirit

The fight ahead is not against people—it’s against spiritual forces that seek to destroy unity, justice, and peace. Ephesians 6:12 (NIV) reminds us:

“For our struggle is not against flesh and blood, but against the rulers, against the authorities, against the powers of this dark world and against the spiritual forces of evil in the heavenly realms.”

These men were not praying against people—they were praying for them. They were praying for:

  • The poor and needy to find provision.
  • The divided and brokenhearted to find healing.
  • The leaders of this country to turn to wisdom and righteousness.
  • The next generation to be equipped with faith instead of fear.

In a time when fear, hate, and misinformation are rampant, the men on this call chose a different path—one of love, peace, and fighting the right fight.

Fighting for Love, Peace, and the Oppressed

In the face of division and suffering, God calls us to be warriors for justice and compassion. The men on this call were stirred to be voices for the voiceless and to stand in the gap for those in need.

Proverbs 31:8-9 (NIV) urges us to take action:

“Speak up for those who cannot speak for themselves, for the rights of all who are destitute. Speak up and judge fairly; defend the rights of the poor and needy.”

As believers, our weapons are not guns, hatred, or violence—our weapons are prayer, faith, and action. We fight by:
✔️ Standing up for truth, even when it’s unpopular.
✔️ Fighting for peace, even when the world tells us to divide.
✔️ Defending the poor and needy, even when society turns a blind eye.

Jesus Himself showed us what real strength looks like: serving the broken, standing with the oppressed, and leading with love. Isaiah 1:17 (NIV) reminds us:

“Learn to do right; seek justice. Defend the oppressed. Take up the cause of the fatherless; plead the case of the widow.”

These men are ready—not to tear others down, but to build up the Kingdom of God in the face of uncertainty.

The Takeaway: Men, The Time Is Now

If there was ever a time for men to rise up in faith, it is now. The battle ahead isn’t one of political sides—it’s a battle for the souls of men, the strength of families, and the righteousness of nations.

As 2 Timothy 1:7 reminds us, “For God has not given us a spirit of fear, but of power and of love and of a sound mind.”

Men of God, stir up the gift within you.

  • Pray fervently.
  • Lead courageously.
  • Love radically.
  • Fight for those who cannot fight for themselves.

Let’s take up the spiritual armor, prepare for the battles ahead, and remember that God is still in control.
